How Home Loans Australia produces content
Our mission is to help Australian borrowers and investors make better decisions. This page explains how we research, write, review and update articles, and how we work with sources, affiliates and sponsors.
1. Primary sources
Where possible, we cite official Australian sources:
- Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) — cash-rate decisions, monetary-policy statements.
- APRA — lending standards, serviceability buffer (currently 3%), prudential guidance.
- ASIC / MoneySmart — consumer-credit law and unbiased calculators.
- Australian Taxation Office (ATO) — capital-gains tax, negative gearing, depreciation, SMSF property rules.
- State revenue offices — land tax thresholds, stamp duty, first-home grants.
- Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) — CPI, wage growth, residential property price indexes.
- CoreLogic, Domain, REA Group — property price and rental data.
2. Research and structure
Every article starts with a concrete question (“Should I fix or stay variable in 2026?”, “How does negative gearing actually work?”) and is structured to answer it: context, current rules, a worked example with numbers and a practical takeaway. When we compare products we show fees, indicative rates and the trade-offs.
3. Updates and review
Content that depends on rates or legislation is reviewed periodically. We display the last updated date at the top of rate-sensitive articles. Material updates are noted in a footer with the change.
4. Corrections policy
Found a mistake? Email contact@homeloansaustralia.blog. Material corrections are flagged in a footer note on the article, with date and a brief description of the change.
5. Editorial independence
No advertiser, broker or lender influences our editorial agenda or our opinion. We do not accept payment for positive coverage. Sponsored content, when it exists, will be clearly labelled.
